Councillor David Goodwin

David GoodwinDavid was first elected as a borough councillor in May 1999 in Friary & St Nicolas and was elected as a borough councillor for Onslow in 2015. This role complements his other position as Surrey County Councillor for Guildford South West (Friary & St. Nicolas and Onslow). He continues “I have been an active member on both the Planning and Licensing Committees for the past sixteen years.

”From a planning perspective, there are several projects in the pipeline affecting Guildford. For example, residents will soon be consulted on the Town Centre’s Masterplan and the North Street redevelopment. There’s also the proposed redevelopment of Guildford railway station, improved pedestrian access over the railway and, of course, further work on The Local Plan.”

In addition to his Councillor roles, David is a Governor at Queen Eleanor’s Church of England School and a Trustee at Hilliers Almshouse on Farnham Road.
